This in person, hands-on meetup is for anyone who wants to learn the basics of outdoor gear maintenance. We all know how expensive outdoor gear can be and how much we beat it up when we are having fun in the outdoors. When something breaks, we know you can’t always go out and buy another expensive one, hence, why we are introducing a gear maintenance workshop through CorpsTHAT.

Bring your own gear and learn how to fix it yourself with Deaf gear experts and tools on site to teach you and guide you in fixing it yourself, or watch one of our demos on our own broken gear. We will cover how to fix a punctured sleeping pad, a rip in your puffy jacket, broken zippers, ripped tent and the cleaning and upkeep of water filtration system or cooking stove.

Don’t know ASL? That’s ok! We will have ASL interpreters at all Sol Fest events thanks to a sponsorship by Trail Blazing Interpreters. CorpsTHAT thanks the Washington, DC Arc’teryx store for providing the tools for participants to use and for sponsoring this event.
