Wilderness Medicine Refresher: Patient Assessment & Field Decision Making - 0.2 CEUs Offered

Wilderness Medicine Series

Presented in American Sign Language (ASL) The Wilderness Medicine Series builds participants’ knowledge, confidence, and decision-making skills for medical situations in outdoor and wilderness environments. Through interactive workshops focused on assessment, prevention, preparedness, and field decision-making, participants will explore how wilderness medicine differs from traditional care when resources are limited and emergency response may be delayed.

Topics include patient assessment, wilderness decision-making, first aid preparedness, hiking-related injuries, wound care, and cold-weather emergencies. This series is designed for outdoor professionals, educators, guides, recreationists, volunteers, ASL interpreters, and anyone interested in expanding their wilderness medicine knowledge.

This series complements, but does not replace, hands-on certifications such as Wilderness First Aid.
