CorpsTHAT is hosting a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) training taught in American Sign Language with CEUs.
This three-day, hands-on course is designed to help you prepare for the unexpected in outdoor settings. Whether you work in the outdoors, interpret in outdoor or conservation settings, recreate on short trips, attend or staff wilderness camps, or enjoy weekend adventures with family and friends, this training is for you.
The course is suitable for all experience levels and is best for those who recreate in areas where emergency medical response is expected within eight hours. You’ll gain practical skills through scenario-based learning, including:
The Patient Assessment System
How to provide effective first aid for common wilderness illnesses and injuries
Evacuation decision-making based on patient condition and available resources
This is a great opportunity to build your skills and confidence in wilderness medicine—taught in ASL, by and for the Deaf community.
