Introduction to Backpacking Class Series:
Tuesdays
Time: 7 pm to 8:30 pm EST
Dates: January 26th, February 2nd, February 9th, and February 16th.
This course is designed for those who are new to backpacking or perhaps a returning backpacker who has not been out for some time now. CorpsTHAT’s online introduction to backpacking course will cover the tips and tricks of backpacking and low-impact camping from a Deaf outdoor educator taught in ASL. Topics will include but not limited to proper gear selection, packing your backpack, basic safety and risk management, water treatment, and some Leave No Trace principles. By the end of this course, the many questions and concerns you have about backpacking basics will be answered, and you will feel prepared and well equipped for your next adventure.
Our introduction to backpacking class will take place once per week for four weeks, starting during the fourth week of January and ending during the third week of February from 7 pm until 8:30 pm EST. As part of our introductory class, we are also providing a complimentary one-hour consultation service with your outdoor instructor during the four-week course.
