Friday, November 10th, 1:00pm – Sunday, November 12th, 2:00 pm Eastern Time
Do you like the idea of cycling through the forest and rolling hills of Western Maryland and West Virginia with just your bicycle? Have you always been intrigued by the idea of going on a bikepacking trip? This trip is for you. You will be led by a trained CorpsTHAT instructor who is an experienced bikepacker, trained in Wilderness First Responder, and fluent in ASL. The instructor will guide participants on a two-night bikepacking trip with easy to moderate terrain that starts and ends at the designated trailhead. Participants will learn how to pack their bicycles, master backcountry cooking skills, Leave No Trace Wilderness Ethics, do basic map reading, and plan their own bikepacking adventure in the future.
Notes: We will meet at a campground (details will be shared after registering) to assess participants gear, pack our packs, discuss leave no trace principles. We will then bike on the C&O on Saturday morning to begin our biking and overnight adventure. On Sunday afternoon, we will end the trip at the campground, de-issue gear and then depart for home.Â
