Learn the basic signs you need to know in order to communicate with Deaf people while working, recreating or volunteering in the outdoor field.
This course will meet for a 1 hour long class twice a week and have a maximum of 7 students. An additional 30 minutes per week of one-on-one or small group tutoring will be offered as needed. Courses are taught by a native Deaf ASL signer who has extensive experience working in the outdoor fields and will be able to adjust teaching styles and topics to fit the needs of the students. Along with basic vocabulary, students will learn an introduction to Deaf culture and etiquette tailored to outdoor settings.
